Sonographers employed by Southern X-ray Clinics provide medical ultrasound services for the Wesley Private and Caboolture Public hospitals together with four suburban private clinics in the north Brisbane region.

As a member of the team, you will be required to provide high quality, accurate diagnostic ultrasound imaging services to referrers and patients in accordance with professional, ethical and industry quality standards.

Core competencies:

Demonstrated ability to perform medical imaging ultrasound examinations employing correct techniques to the accepted industry standard or above

Our Carers are managed and supported by a Clinical Nurse Consultant.

LINCS Healthcare has recently been approved to provide cares for a young man with a spinal injury and who requires 24hrs 7 days a week cares. The cares will take place in the client’s home near Caloundra, on the Sunshine Coast.

In order to provide these cares, LINCS is developing a highly specialised team of carers who will undergo 4-6 weeks of specialised and intensive training at the Prince Alexander (PA) Hospital in Brisbane. This course is MANDATORY and is both theory and practice based. All successful applicants will be required to complete this course and be assessed by the course as competent to deliver specialised care in order to be employed with LINCS Healthcare. LINCS will provide each applicant with a wage while he/she completes the course.

On successful completion of the course, each carer will be required to work on a rotating shift of Day, Afternoon and Night hours. However, there is some flexibility of shifts with carer preferences taken into consideration. Above award rates will apply, including Penalty rates for Saturday and Sunday, Public Holidays and on-call allowances.

Carers will also be required to provide support and assistance to the client’s partner by providing her with respite and domestic assistance as required.

The carers will be working in a dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team including nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

All carers must successfully complete the training provided by the PA Spinal Unit before commencing work with LINCS Healthcare. This course is MANDATORY and is both theory and practice based, and runs for 4-6weeks. All carers completing the course will be paid while attending the course.

Experience:

•A MINIMUM of 12 months experience working as a carer in the community.

•Being hoist competent is an advantage. Training in hoisting is part of the course.

•You must have excellent people skills, high standards of professionalism and be client-focussed.

•A police check is mandatory.

•You will need to have current CPR and First Aid certificates.

•You will need to have a current Open QLD driver’s licence, and your own reliable car.
